“This is pitiful. A thousand people freezing their butts off waiting to worship a rat. What a hype.”

“Groundhog Day” is one of the funniest films of all time. In my opinion, I think that this might be Bill Murray’s best performance. This was the last time that Harold Ramis and Bill Murray made a movie together. Previously they worked together on “Meatballs”, “Caddyshack”, “Stripes” and “Ghostbusters 1 and 2”. When they worked together, it was comedy gold, although they did have some creative differences and problems off camera. Bill Murray stars as Phil Connors, a weatherman who is out to cover the annual emergence of the groundhog from its hole. During his stay in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Phil gets caught in a blizzard and ends up reliving the same day over and over. This film inspired many other movies and became an “accidental” classic, meaning that the filmmakers didn’t intend to do a lot things they did while making the film. Groundhog day is a hilarious romance-comedy that everyone should see at least once in their life.
