Campus Business
Upcoming College Visits: The following colleges will be on campus in the

CSHS Open House is on Monday, August 20th. If your parents are planning
to attend, please remember to give them a copy of your schedule as they will be
following your schedule and visiting each of your classes for about 10 minutes.

Picture Day is coming up on Thursday, August 30th. Orders can be placed
online by visiting and using the CSHS picture day ID SR018009Q1.
There are also order forms available in the front office.

Cactus Shadows High School is collecting non-perishable items for Foothills
Food Bank. This time of year, the food banks run low so we are collecting any
non-perishable food item. Items specifically requested are size 3 diapers, peanut
butter, sugar, canned meat, canned pasta, jelly, juice, cream soups, any size
diapers, pasta, pasta sauce and toiletries – shampoo, conditioner, razers,
deodorant, lotion and feminine products. A collection bin is set up in the front
office and the final collection time will be on August 17th in front of the football
stadium before our first Varsity game (5:30pm-7pm). If students are interested in
volunteering for community service hours, please contact [email protected]

Seniors and Juniors, we are completely sold out of parking passes for the
2018-2019 school year. There are no additional parking passes available for this
school year.

Join the Superintendent’s Student Cadre! Superintendent, Dr. Debbi
Burdick, is inviting students from Cactus Shadows High School (Freshman,
Sophomore, Junior, Senior) to meet with her once a month to discuss critical
issues at the high school, the district and in the community. The meetings will be
in dialogue format for active discussion. Topics for discussion will be brought
forward by students or Dr. Burdick. For more information visit CCUSD’s website –

September 12 – 2:05pm in the 100 Building staff lounge.
Are you participating in the Superintendent’s Challenge? Earn 50 hours or
more per year in Community Service (200 hours total 4 years) by your senior year
and receive a Superintendent’s Challenge honor cord and certificate. Falcons can
earn a Varsity letter for completing 200 hours of community service in one school
year. Hours started accruing for the Varsity letter June 1st until the deadline. For

Club News
Art Alliance will have their first meeting today, in room 824, from 2:10 to
3:00 pm. All are welcome to come and check out art Alliance
Veterans Heritage Project’s first meeting is today. If you are interested in
history or enjoy writing, come to VHP’s first meeting in room 311 after school, or
speak with Mr. Lineburg or Ms. Gum for more information.

Robotics Club will also have their first meeting today, after school in room
1004. If you are interested, come join us and see what Robotics club is all about.

Key Club also meets for the first time today at 3:00 PM in the Culinary Arts
room, room 419. All those interested in joining are welcome to attend.

Sports News
For those interested in playing Girls Basketball, there will be a meeting next
Monday, August 20th at 3:00 PM in the Lecture Hall.

Falcons, this Friday is a BLUE OUT for the pep rally and game. Everybody
WEAR BLUE on Friday!
