Grand Canyon University will be visiting in the CSHS Library Conference

Room on Wednesday, May 4th at 11:30 a.m. Interested students should register

through TCCI.

Hey Falcons – it’s time to celebrate your AWESOME teachers. Teacher

Appreciation Week is this week! Grab your phone and take a selfie of you and

your teacher and write a quick note on how awesome they are. Your pics will be

posted on CCUSD’s social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

Send your pics to [email protected] – don’t forget to include your name and

your teacher’s name and what makes them the best. Thanks in advance for


Prom tickets are now for sale in in the bookstore. Tickets are $65. All

juniors and seniors and their guest are invited to attend. Avoid the line and

purchase your ticket early. The last day to buy prom tickets is this Wednesday,

May 4th. If you are interested in bringing a guest from another school, prom guest

passes are available in the discipline office from Mrs. Gordon. The last day to

submit a guest pass is also this Wednesday, May 4th

Seniors, Grad Nite Live Applications are being taken now and can be found

on the CSHS website or in the office. Completed applications can be turned in to

the front office. Don’t miss out on this fun experience, register today! Also, if

you’ll be bringing in a senior poster, the final date to turn those in will be next

Friday, May 6th

Underclassmen, are you participating in the Superintendent’s Challenge?

The deadline to submit your hours is TODAY, May 2nd. If you have any questions,

please contact Julia Scotto in the district office.


Math tutoring has returned in the library after school on Monday, Tuesday

and Thursday.

Do you have what it takes to accept the H2O challenge? Students in Mrs.

Gates’ Advisory class want to challenge every student and staff member to bring

in ONE unopened water bottle by this Wednesday, May 4th. Students will be

bringing water to a Phoenix charity for the homeless. A box will be outside of

room 611. Thank you for your support!

Attention all students: Got books? Cluttering up your bedroom? We are

seeking used AP, IB, SAT, and ACT Test Prep books. Instead of throwing them

away, put them to good use by bringing them in to help someone else this fall.

Please drop off your books during the month of May to Mrs. Menton’s office

located in the counseling area.

It’s almost the end of the year and if you’re planning to throw away old

binders, paper, pencils, folders, and backpacks, why not donate them to a good

cause? Instead of abandoning your backpack, donate your gently used or new

school supplies to the boxes around campus. All donations will go to less

fortunate schools in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. From pencils to paper to

protractors, anything helps!

Club News

Congratulations to all of the students whose work was chosen to be in this

year’s literary magazine! A list of names of accepted writers and artists is posted

outside of room 609. The magazines will go on sale May 10th at the release party,

held at Janey’s Coffee House from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Come by to listen, sip coffee,

view art, and hear students read selections from CIRQUE, this year’s magazine.

Admission is $5.00 and goes towards the purchase of a magazine.

Save the date! Yearbook Palooza is coming! Mark your calendars for

Thursday, May 12th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Come pick up your yearbooks, play

games, listen to music, eat cotton candy and enjoy carnival rides. Tickets go on

sale Monday, May 2nd. $8.00 if purchased ahead of time and $10.00 at the door.

Sports News

Attention all senior athletes. If you have or will sign to participate in your

high school sport at the college level, we want to honor you at our 4th College

Signing Celebration. The event will take place on Thursday, May 12th. You, your

parents and influential friends are invited to take part in the celebration. Please

see Mrs. Johnson in the athletics office to get the required information to share

with your family and friends.
